Don joined the CLHbid team in the summer of 2024. At a very young age farming was definitely front and centre. Whether baling hay, planting crops or harvesting grain there was never a shortage of work. During these field operations equipment breakdowns were always a low point. This led Don down the path of “if only I could contribute and fix all this equipment!” During this period Don was also fortunate enough to buy his first 1/2 section of land and was hooked.

Don enrolled in Agricultural Mechanics Technician program and became a “Journeyman Mechanic” a few years later. During the years of mechanic by day and farmer by night and weekends, the decision was made to move back to the family farm at Wilkie. Don married his college sweetheart Vicky in 1993, they raised three amazing children, 2 with Ag Business degrees and 1 with a degree in Nutrition and today farm with their son and his family!

Don is currently on the Board of West Central Pelleting where he also served as President for a number of years. Don was also past President of the Western Applied Research Corporation as well as being involved with various Boards at the community level. Don and Vicky are always willing to help out where needed regardless of the time or place.

In his “spare” time Don enjoys family time at the cabin at Turtle Lake, as well as travelling with friends and family.
